At LunaGeo, we know that a successful migration to open source GIS takes a lot of thought and work. Our approach can be broken down into a four step process.

1. Evaluate the current GIS, which involves reviewing data holdings, data management practices, data governance policies, user groups, workflows, and software usage and requirements.
2. Plan the migration so that current workflows and systems are either replicated or (ideally) improved in the new GIS.
